of Chris Heeter's keynote presentation at our National Interpreters
Workshop in Mobile, Alabama in November 2005. Chris had been recommended
by several of our members who had heard her speak at other conferences
and felt her message would touch the hearts of our workshop participants.
They were right. I cannot remember when the feedback on a keynote speaker
was so wholeheartedly positive. Connections are important to interpreters
and a keynote speaker who has a canned message does not make it with
